Move over Mother Teresa

Flash us your lovely
Be more you
It's might have a bit of weird.
It likely resists the usual.
It probably makes us side smile.
It should have a lot of you.
And it's certainly full of love.
Or it might be something else
we only think of when we read that
idea you're about to share with us 😉.

Step 01
SHARE YOUR IDEA
Fill out this form to let us know who you're thinking of doing something Drop Dead Generous for and how you would spend $500 (or the equivalent in your local currency) to do it. It takes about 5 minutes.
Step 02
GET $500, NO STRINGS CASH
Step 03
DO YOUR THING
Now you're rich and ready to carry out your idea :) We'll ask you to take 5 photos that capture your Drop Dead Generous act of kindness and submit these, along with a voice message, when you've finished. If you ever need any support or have any questions you think we can help with then email or book a call with us at any point. We're all yours.
Step 04
TELL US WHAT WENT DOWN
We believe your experience is a gift, and one that could inspire many others. So we'll invite you to reflect on your Drop Dead Generous act of kindness by leaving a voice message that we'll proudly upload to our podcast feed for the world to hear. We'll also ask that you capture 5 photos that document your journey or the essence of it and send us these too.
How do I get me some of that money?
It starts with sharing your idea, silly. So click anywhere it says 'Share your idea', fill out our form and click submit. It takes about 5 minutes. If we can fund you then you'll get an email within a few weeks with a Revolut payout link for you to collect your $500 (or equivalent in your local currency). You won't need to give us your bank details directly and you also don't need a Revolut account.
Alright, there must be a catch?
Yeah there's always a catch. Ours is that if you get the $500 then we ask that you take 5 photos that capture your Drop Dead Generous act of kindness and share these as well as a voice message with us when you're ready. Your experience is a gift that could inspire so many others, so with your permission we'll pass your story onto others via our blog and socials. Why? Because kindness creates kindness, even when people hear about it.
You don't have to do this, though. So I suppose it's not a catch. But yeah, it'd be cool if you did.
What's the criteria?
Every 2 weeks we'll gather a bunch of people and spend the day reading all the new ideas shared with us. We'll fund about 20 every cycle and choose the most standout Drop Dead Generous ones.
We'd like to get to a point pretty quickly where we are not the ones choosing who gets funding and who doesn't. So once we've curated a vibe and built a community we'll probably start testing ways we can put this job into your hands.
What can I spend it on?
It's up to you because we trust. Just use the money to cover the cost of making your idea happen. We try to encourage people not to just gift the money onto the recipient of your idea because, well, we reckon you can be more creative than that.
What if my idea doesn't make the cut?
We'll let you know by email. But here's the thing....
Assuming we get heaps of idea submissions we've realised that we'll probably be not funding way more than the 1,000 we do. Which sucks. So we're going to explore as many ways as possible to support people we don't fund in order to help them make their idea happen regardless of snagging the cash. As far as this experiment goes we think this is both our biggest challenge and our biggest opportunity for goodness.
Are you worried people will ghost you?
Honestly, not really. We're doing this project because we think people are awesome. We'll open up on our socials about things that don't quite go to plan and who knows, maybe mass ghosting will be one of them. We don't think so though.
What are your funding terms?
We believe in people and that trust is the number one most glorious contract there is between us all. In the spirit of this trust we ask for as little as our lawyer tells us we can get away with. So, by submitting your idea, we ask that you acknowledge and agree to the following few things
- Whilst we are flexible on timeframes for fulfilling your idea , you agree you will only use monies received from us in-line with the submission you have made and that you will accept the money in good faith of seeking to fulfill the idea within a reasonable period of time.
- We want to share the good work you do and by submitting an idea you agree we can use the details of the idea and the content you generate and provide us with for our internal and external purposes, including using for our own content, marketing, social media and all other uses related to spreading your and our good work. We will never share personal data without your permission but may share details of the proposal and its fulfillment on a first name only basis as part of our content.
- If for whatever reason you become no longer in a position to fulfill the idea we ask that you contact us and return the money so that we can use it for another proposal.
- By making a submission you are granting us permission to contact you and store your personal information for the extent necessary to fulfill donating the money to you and following up with regards to receiving content and understanding the good effects of fulfilling your proposal.
- You have permission to include any personal, sensitive or other information you include in the proposal you may send us, acknowledging that we may publish details of it (on an anonymised basis at a later date).
- Whilst we review and approve proposals, please do not take this as an endorsement or recommendation of what you propose to do. You remain responsible for all acts and omissions, injury, damages or otherwise that may be caused during the fulfillment of the proposal. Please be careful.
